San Diego – It’s a Foodies Town!

We love living in San Diego because of the wonderful weather and laid back vibe. Whether you live in the beach-view towers of the Towers at Costa Verde or the hillside vista of Torrey Gardens, your new favorite eatery is in this city! Here are six of my favorite restaurants in San Diego:

Searsucker

Located in the Gaslamp Quarter, you can find Chef Brian Malarkey’s first San Diego restaurant. The menu offers classic American dishes with a twist. Some favorites are the duck with white bean, confit, and fig, the hanger steak with smoked fingerling potatoes and torpedo onion, and farm bird lollipops with hot sauce and bleu cheese.

Carnita’s Snack Shack

This roadside stand may not look like much, but with its ever changing menu, Carnita’s Snack Shack is sure to have something to titillate the taste buds. Also called the SnackShack, patrons will find a menu based off of different pork dishes.

Juniper and Ivy

From the winner of Top Chef: All Stars, Richard Blais, comes Juniper and Ivy. Called the “Left Coast Cookery” because 99 percent of everything on the menu comes from the West Coast. Make sure to get the buttermilk biscuits as an appetizer — they will leave you salivating for more.

The Lion’s Share

You have to try the antelope sliders. Along with a delicious menu, you can find one of the most interesting cocktail menus around. If you are looking for a relaxing night, stop by here at night. You can play 8 ball, darts, and watch major sporting events.

Phil’s BBQ

Let me reassure you, the wait is worth it. These ribs are something to write home about with a special BBQ sauce that will leave you full but still wanting more. This is a definite must for any San Diegan foodie.

Cucina Urbana

Inspired by the California landscape and wine region, Cucina Urbana’s menu offers surprising and tantalizing items. From pizza to pasta, this urban kitchen delivers tasty Italian dishes that will leave you licking the plate.
